Derrick Cummins is currently the Chief Executive Officer at J&T Bank and Trust Inc. He joined the firm as Manager, Investment Services in May 2010. Mr. Cummins is responsible for the overall effective operation of the Bank and Trust, ensuring the delivery of quality services to its many clients.

 

His role also includes growing the client base as well as the business areas of the Bank and Trust. His responsibilities also include overseeing management of the suite of mutual funds of J&T Funds Inc, the Bank’s client portfolios and the treasury investing the Bank.

 

Mr. Cummins has over 18 years’ experience in Treasury and Portfolio Management in the offshore sector in Barbados. His prior work experience includes Senior Economist at the National Productivity Council, Senior Research Officer at the Barbados National Insurance Office, Investment Officer, London Life Bank and Trust Corp, and Associate Portfolio Manager at CIBC Offshore Banking Services Corp.

 

Mr. Cummins received his Masters degree in Finance and Management in 2000 from the School of Business and Economics, University of Exeter, UK. He is also a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. Mr. Cummins also tutored Financial Management in the faculty of Management Studies at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus from 2008 to 2015.

 

Mr. Cummins is also the 1st Vice President of Barbados International Business Association, and Chairman of the Steering Committee of International Business Week 2018 and 2019.

 

  Marcelle Correia

 

 

 

In her current role as Relationship Manager, Trust and Corporate Services, Marcelle is responsible for overseeing all aspects of relationship management for a diverse portfolio of clients in a variety of industries and sectors. Her other duties and responsibilities include day to day management of a trust portfolio, liaising with clients, documenting of trust actions, monitoring of trust investment portfolios, reviewing and signing off of trust financial statements and T3 returns.

 

Marcelle Correia has over 25 years’ experience in both the commercial and offshore banking sectors in Barbados. She has worked with the start up team in the establishment of two banks as well as in the transition process of Royal Bank of Canada’s acquisition of Royal Trust. She is currently a Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and holds a Masters of Business Administration (Distinction) from Durham University in the U.K.
